The 9th International Contest of Children¢s and Youth¢s Artistic Creativity held in conjunction with ENVIROFILM 2004 - the International Festival of Films, TV Programmes and Video Programmes dealing with the environmental protection and development.

Objective

To instil love for nature and the environment into children by creation of habits and skills in their artistic self-expression. Works submitted to the contest should have a creative and motivating character, representing the children¢s attitude to life in nature.
The theme of the contest is country. Country we live in, country we would like to live in. What is the country of our dreams? What can we do so that our country became the dreamt-of one? The country it is forests, meadows, fields, waters, animals, people and towns. The country has its own life, let us try to see it.


Organisation and the Course of the Contest:

There are no preliminary rounds to this international contest. The works should be submitted directly, in person or by mail, to the Slovak Environmental Agency in Banská Bystrica before 19 March 2004.

Technical Terms of Participation:

In the category drawing, painting, graphics and combined techniques the works must not be rolled up or folded. Please do not send works that are three-dimensional, glazed or framed. Following information needs to be given on the reverse side: author¢s name, age, home address and school address;  work title, year of origination (not more than 2 years old), name of the teacher if the work was created at school, and the address of the organisation submitting the work. Maximum format is A0. No limitations apply to the techniques used.

The works will not be returned to the authors!

Films for the animated cartoon category send please on Betacam, SVHS or DVD and fill in the attached registration form. 

In the category black-and-white and colour photography the author’s classic photographs and digital photographs can be submitted in the max. number of 5 pieces. Photographs awarded in other contests, photographs with controversial authorship and photographs contravening basic principles of morality and ethics will be excluded from the contest.

Following data must be given on the reverse side of the photograph: author’s name, address, title of the shot, type of camera, type of lens, film, e-mail address, tel. number and information if the author requests the photographs back.  

Classic photographs

Colour and also black-and-white photographs can be submitted to the contest. Minimum format is 10 x 15 cm, maximum format is 24 x 30 cm. Photographs to be sent without passe-partout and frames. DO NOT SEND negatives with photographs.

Digital photographs

Digital photographs for the competition must be sent either as classic photographs made on a photosensitive material or printed by an ink jet printer on photographic paper for ink jet printers. Minimum format is 9 x 13 cm, maximum format is 24 x 30 cm.

Submitted works must complied with requested technical conditions (film base, format, quality).

Competing works without duly filled in data or delivered after the deadline will not be admitted for the contest!


Prizes:

The Main Prize of the Green World and three prizes in each category will be awarded.
